Clyde Edward Bridges of Athens, age 80, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at his residence. Funeral will be Monday, December 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Davis, Ernest Campbell, Robert Morris Noble and Bill Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Bridges was born June 16, 1933 in Limestone County. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Athens and was retired from Limestone County School System. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Redding Bridges; daughters, Dawn Mancuso M.D. (Tony) of Madison, Jennifer Edette Bridges of Atlanta; sister, Vaughn Bridges Wisotzke of Milwaukee; Grandchildren, Allyson Mancuso and Camille Mancuso; niece, Brenda Armour; and nephew, Mark Wisotzke.
Memorials may be made to Clearview Cancer Institute and Gentiva Hospice.
