Clyde Charles Steele, 86, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. He was born on November 1, 1937, in Arkansas to Clyde and Stella Powers Steele. He retired from Wright Manufacturing, and he attended Lakeside Baptist Church in Amory. He had a great heart and was married to the former Linda Weichman on December 22, 1972. His hobbies included bowling, working in his shop, collecting knives, and most of all his family. He was known for his pecans and making special trips to Arkansas to bring back, all of which were hand shelled by him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Rodney Waycaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Haughton Memorial Park.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Linda Steele, he is survived by two sons, Michael Charles Steele (Diane) of Amory and John Robert Steele (Kim) of Amory; one daughter, Carolyn Motes of Amory; his brother, Walter Steele of Marion, AR; grandchildren, Nathan Steele (Heather), John Michael Motes (Tori), Heather Motes, Jamie Brannon (Joey), Chris Steele (Kathryn), Jessica Bond (Jeffrey), Kelsey George (Josh); and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, JoAnn Weaver; and great granddaughter, Carmen Steele.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Steele, John Michael Motes, Chris Steele, Joey Brannon, Jeffrey Bond, and Josh George.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
