Clora Elizabeth Hipps Fowler – Obituary

Clora Elizabeth Hipps Fowler, 84, of Florence, Ala., passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County. She was a member of the Rogers Chapel United Methodist Church and the Zip City Community Center.
Visitation will be 12:30-3 p.m. today, Sept. 8, 2013, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Clinton Busler officiating and assisted by Anna Fowler Burns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Fowler, Jr.; an infant child; parents, Elmer Jay and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Hipps; brothers, Clifford, Earl, William and Neal Hipps; sisters, Gertie Givens and Earline Arnold; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Pickens Fowler.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Fowler; daughter, Emily Patterson (Chris); sisters, Virginia Wright and Emanola Foxx; sisters-in-law, Betty Hipps and Jean Hipps; grandchildren, Eric Patterson, John Fowler, Toni Jo McGinnis (Jason) and Anna Burns (Rob); great-grandchildren, Drake Patterson, Leah Cathy Burns and Isabella Jo Anne McGinnis.
Pallbearers will be Greg Bevis, John Fowler, Phillip Fowler, Mike Hipps, Eric Patterson and Steve Pruitt.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and hospitalists at ECM Hospital and the staff at Merrill Gardens for their loving care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zip City Community Center.
