Clifford Lindell (“C.L”) Flippo, 89, of Madison, AL, passed away September 18, 2016. Mr. Flippo was a retired Civil Engineer with 27 years of service at TVA, having retired in 1988. He obtained his B.S in Civil Engineering at Auburn University in 1954 and his M.S. degree in 1968. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, having served with the 8th United States Army Occupational Force in Japan and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Flippo was a Deacon and Elder for 31 years at Atlas Church of Christ.

Sons: John Flippo (Laura) & Paul Flippo
Brother: David Flippo (Bonnie)
Sisters: Mazie Keeton, Marion Ayres, Hazel Mays (Wayne), and Jenny Killen (Selton)
Brother-in-law: Steve McRight
Sisters-in-law: Bennie Ruth Flippo & Ann Flippo
Granddaughter: Lindell Rose Flippo
Grandson: Jack Samuel Flippo

He was preceded in death by:
Parents: Lindell Edgar Flippo & Ola Agnes Huskey Flippo
Brothers: Alton Flippo & Lonnie Flippo
Brothers-in-law: Bill Keeton & Bob Ayres
Sister: Martha McRight

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 5-7:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Atlas Church of Christ with Miles Stutts & Steve Shelton officiating. The body will lie in state from 12-1:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Nephews and grand-nephews will serve as pallbearers. Atlas Church of Christ and Madison Church of Christ Elders will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Atlas Church of Christ Building Fund and Safeplace, Inc.
