  Clifford Leon Johnson Profile PhotoClifford Leon Johnson, known by many as Leon, passed away on September 15, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 91. Born on April 1, 1933, in Limestone County, Alabama, Leon dedicated his life to his faith, his family, and love for his fellow man.

Leon graduated from West Limestone High School and shortly thereafter served in the United States Army. After his service, he embarked on a 43-year career as a Machinist and Tool & Die Maker, where his attention to detail and hard work were highly valued.

A devout Christian, Leon was a long-time member of the Madison Church of Christ. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding his actions and interactions throughout his life.

Leon married the love of his life, Jewel, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage, characterized by deep love and mutual respect. He was father to Barry (Vicki), Teresa Link (Ed), and Tina Bozeman (Jimmy). He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lou Johnson, one brother Walton (Boag) Johnson and grandson, Jeffrey Johnson.

Known for his kind and gentle demeanor, Leon was also a wise and generous man. He enjoyed reading and gardening, hobbies that reflected his love for learning and nature.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM. All services will be held at Madison church of Christ in Madison, AL.

Leon’s legacy is one of unwavering integrity and kindness, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (Memphis) in memory of Mr. Johnson.
