Clifford B. Parker, 88, of the Union Hill Community, Morgan County died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Parker was born July 3, 1929 in Morgan County, to James Everett Parker and Bertrice Criscoe Parker. His wife, Helen Segars Parker, preceded him in death in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack W. Parker and Richard G. Parker and one sister, Verna Parker Cooper.
Mr. Parker was a lifetime resident of the Union Hill Community, a lifetime member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. In 1949, he began his career with the Enquirer Printing Company and became a partner in 1970 and was the former owner until his retirement in 2009. He also served in the Alabama National Guard during the Korean War.
Mr. Parker is survived by two sons: Clifford Shannon Parker and James E. Parker II (Jolene); two daughters: Sharon Parker Cobb (Gary) and Kay Parker Phillips (Mickey); three grandchildren: Sean Phillips (Monica), Zachary Ty Parker and Dustin James Parker; four great grandchildren: Kairi, Jack, Rachel and Madeline Phillips. One brother: James L. Parker (Ruth).
He loved spending time with his family and his trusted canine companion, Gunnar.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Eldridge Criscoe and Rev. Kenneth Smith, officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sons, Grandsons and Nephews.
