Clemmie Jeanette Grider Lee, age 87 of Huntland, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Princeton, Alabama on March 25, 1935 to the late Lem and Ester (Hambrick) Grider. Clemmie was a member of the Huntland Church of Christ and enjoyed studying her bible lessons. She started working at the shirt and yarn factories and then for Pogue’s Store. Clemmie was the first female Deputy Assessor of Franklin County and retired in 2004. In her younger years she enjoyed going camping on Keith Springs Mountain with her sister and brother-in-law. Some of her most memorable trips were when she would go to the Smokey Mountains. She enjoyed sewing, canning, and gardening. Clemmie was a wonderful cook and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Some of their favorites where her delicious corn bread, fried okra, squash, and turnip greens. But most of all Clemmie loved to spend time with her great-grandchildren. She loved to watch them play ball, and tossed the ball and played Rook with them at home. She will be remembered as a kind, strong willed woman with a heart of gold. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Joe S. Lee; sons, Ricky Lee and Denny Lee; siblings, Winston Grider, Tom Grider and Estalene “Sis” Watson. She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Mike) Foster; grandsons, Russ (Jessica) Morris and Ted Lee; great-grandchildren, Noah Lee, Hannah Lee, Brooklyn Morris, Bailey Morris; special friend and caretaker, Edna Bradley. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 3pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
