Clellon Levern “Kittle” Gautney – Obituary

CellonClellon Levern “Kittle” Gautney born January 30th, 1929, passed away December 3, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born in Lauderdale County and a retired cotton farmer.
Mr. Gautney was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School and a member of West Rogersville Church of Christ where he was a song leader and a Sunday school teacher.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 – 8 at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 in the chapel with Don Osbourn and Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hurricane Cemetery. Mr. Gautney’s six sons will serve as pallbearers.
“Kittle” was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Favors Gautney; son, Robert Levern Gautney; sisters, Inez Whitman and Beulah Mae Varnell. He is survived by his sons, James (Kathy), Charles (Rhonda), Stephen (Wanda), Jeffrey (Elizabeth), Alan and Michael (Cecelia); 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gerlean Hammond and Christine Blankenship; brother-in-law, Raburn Clark; sister-in-law, Agnes Ritter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special “thank you” to Gentiva Hospice and caring girls, Joloyce Omalley and Stephanie Davis for their support of our father and the good care that was provided.
