Clellie Talmadge Owens, 85, of Moulton, Alabama, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord
on May 31, 2025. Born on February 2, 1940, to Ed and Bessie (Gray) Owens, Clellie lived a life
defined by faith, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Clellie graduated from Austinville High School in 1957, where he shone as an athlete, playing
baseball and basketball with passion and skill. His love for sports carried into adulthood, where
he found immense joy coaching Little League baseball, mentoring young players with his
encouragement and wisdom. In his later years, Clellie discovered a deep love for gardening,
spending countless hours tending to his flowers and vegetables. His generous spirit shone
through as he shared his harvests with family, friends, and neighbors.
A devoted member of New Life Church, Clellie was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and
ability to share a joke or teachable moment with anyone he met. His legacy of kindness endures
in the hearts of those he touched.
Clellie is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; son, Steve; grandchildren, Zach (Emily) and
Courtney; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Abigail, and Evan; and brother, Jerald (Rhonda). He was
preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Bessie; brother, Kermit; and sister, Marie.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Midway Memorial
Gardens in Moulton. The family invites all to join in celebrating Clellie’s remarkable life.
