Clay Moquin – Obituary

Clay Moquin, MD, 62, passed away Sunday. Dr. Moquin was born in Davenport Iowa and moved to Huntsville in the late 1950s. He was a graduate of Huntsville High School. He graduated from Birmingham Southern College in 1974 and the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1978. He did his residency at the University of Alabama, Huntsville and began his practice in family medicine in 1981. Special certifications include Senior Aviation Medical Officer for FAA, Medical Review Officer for Marshall Space Flight Center, and Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Component of a Hearing Conservation Program.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Tuggle Moquin; sons, James Richard Moquin and Cole Claiborne Tuggle Moquin; mother, Margaret Claiborne Moquin; and siblings, Michael James Moquin (Margaret), Stephen Charles Moquin (Linda), Meg Moquin Hereford, Sarah Joe Moquin Chadwell (Phillip), William Alfred Moquin (Julie), Paul Benedict Moquin (Linda), and Thomas Joseph Ousley Moquin (LaClare).

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Funeral service details will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to research into the treatment of depression; Birmingham Audubon Society; Tennessee Valley Audubon Society; Lincoln Village Ministry, Huntsville, AL (lincolnvillageministry.com/get-involved/donate/); or United Nation Children’s Fund (unicef.org).
