Claudia Fowler Clemmons – Obituary

ClaudiaClaudia Fowler Clemmons, 87, a native of Lauderdale County, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013. She was a lover of God and a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ; a lover of family, especially Holidays and Sunday dinners when all her family were together. She was a true lover of travel, especially the west and of the desert; a true adventurous spirit. She left on her final adventure in her favorite season, fall, of the year. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family and love.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, from 11-2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Sonny Owens, Jack Flowers, and Rodney Rice. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clemmons was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Louis Kelsie Clemmons; parents, Floyd and Vonna Fowler; sons, Edward Louis Clemmons, Terry Ronald Clemmons and Gordon Kyle Clemmons; sister, Wylodean Thigpen; brothers, Carl and Fletcher Fowler; daughter-in-law, Shelia Clemmons; and granddaughter, Kenya Clemmons.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Black (John); sons, Aaron Clemmons (Judy), Bruce Clemmons (Dortha), Greg Clemmons and Darryl Clemmons; daughter-in-law, Laura Clemmons; grandchildren, Darby Black, Shawna Talbot, Erin Weaver (Ron), Stacey Wooten, Rachael McDaniel (Jeremy), Leah Clemmons, Josh Clemmons, Matt Clemmons (Christy), Markus Tyler Clemmons, Tony Clemmons, Andrea Clemmons and Curtis Clemmons; great-grandchildren, Haley Black, Mitchell Talbot, Mahlon Talbot, Kane Weaver, Ella Weaver, Briley Wooten, Dawson Wooten, Dylan McDaniel, Kelsie McDaniel, Zoe Clemmons and Ava Clemmons; brother, Lloyd Fowler; sister, Dorothy Glover; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Clemmons, Bruce Clemmons, Greg Clemmons, Darryl Clemmons, Darby Black, Josh Clemmons, and Matt Clemmons.
