Claude R. Aycock Jr. of Decatur passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the age of 85. He was born April 12, 1929, in Decatur to Claude Richard Aycock Sr. and Margaret Frahn Aycock. As a young man, Claude worked as an usher at the Princess Theater, as a paper boy with The Decatur Daily and worked at Thompson Drugs. He also worked at Lyons Electric, Robinson Furniture and NASA from where he retired. Mr. Aycock was in the Army National Guard and served his country in Korea during theKorean War. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 61 years, Sue Daly Aycock. He is survived by his daughter, Judy A. Rudell; grandson, Adam Richard Rudell; brother, William J. “Billy Joe” (Mary) Aycock; two nephews, Joey Aycock and family of Hamilton and Dan Aycock and family of Homewood and aunt, Geraldine Aycock of Decatur.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. A time of gathering with the family will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
