Funeral for Rev. Clark Grady “Bill” Reding, 94, of Courtland will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at noon at Courtland Baptist Church with Rev. James Warren and Rev. Scotty Letson officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Rev. Reding, who died Sunday, October 4, 2015, at his residence, was born May 9, 1921, to Cleveland and Nola Reding. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. He was a pastor for 65 years including 13 churches, Sunday school teacher and business owner. He was a graduate of Florence State University and a lifetime servant of the Lord. He enjoyed horticulture, visiting the sick, raising and training mules.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Berteen Reding; daughters, Jean Dutton and Beverly Hames; son, Anthony Reding; grandchild, Eddie Dutton; and his parents.
Survivors include seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marlon Dutton, Rod Dutton, Stacy Morgan, Donald Reding, Tim Reding, Dale Cartee, Dan Simmons and Boyd Reding.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy McCarley, Gid Reding, Buddy Simmons and Kenny Reding.
