Clarese Vaughn

Ms. Clarese Vaughn Clarese Vaughn was born to Pauline Vaughn and Jesse Lacy on June 13, 1955, in Madison County, Alabama, and she departed this life to Eternal Rest on September 10, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was educated in the Huntsville City Schools system and graduated from Lee High School in 1973. Clarese began her walk Christ at an early age, and then joined Blackburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America under the Pastorate of the late Reverend Dr. McKinley Jones. Clarese sang in the choir at her church and loved to volunteer her time to the kitchen ministry. Following her graduation, Clarese sought higher goals for herself, and attended Calhoun Community College. It was there she received training to start her career with the Boeing Company. Clarese worked with Boeing as a secretary, in different departments, throughout her tenure. She retired in June of 2020, after 33 years of dedicated service.

Clarese was preceded in death by her brother, George S. Johnson.

Clarese was never married, and had no children, but she had many devoted and closet friends she held dear. She visited them often, and attended cookouts and went to movies and other outings with her closet pals.

She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers: Willie Van Johnson of San Jose, California, Joe B. Vaughn, and Gregory L. Vaughn, both of Huntsville, Alabama; one “sister”, Chris Campbell Jones of Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Blackburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (507 Plummer Road, Huntsville, AL 35806) with Pastor Tramaine Snodgrass officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Ms. Vaughn will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, and 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
