Clarence Tidwell Clarence Tidwell, 89, passed away Saturday, November 05, 2022, at his home. He was born October 14, 1933, in Sheffield, AL to Kermit and Ethel Tidwell. He graduated from Sheffield High School and was a standout athlete. He served his country during the Korean War enlisting in the United States Navy. While stationed in Corpus Christi, TX, he was on the Naval Baseball Team and they played other Naval bases. After his stint in the Navy, he attended Northeast Junior College and was the quarterback of the football team. He had been a faithful member of Brewer Baptist Church since 1965 and over the years had served as deacon, a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and served on various committees. He volunteered and worked at the Faith Food Pantry in Nettleton. Working in the Plumbing, Heating and Air Wholesale industry for over 67 years, he was the manager at Paine Supply and Southern Pipe and was the manager and co-owner at Tupelo Plumbing and MTH Plumbing Supply. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the University of Alabama Sports teams. He coached little league baseball and refereed high school and junior college basketball and football games. He loved spending time with his family.

Services will be 2 PM Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Tutor and Bro. Keith Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn McGee Tidwell; three children, Christy Waycaster (Mitch), Charlie Tidwell (Deena) and Cliff Tidwell (Melinda); 6 grandchildren, Jill Waycaster West (Josh), Ross Waycaster, Mollie Tidwell Moore (Peyton), Nathan Tidwell, Abby Tidwell, Caleb Tidwell; 5 great-grandchildren, Clay, Micah and Rosie West, Parker and Matthew Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Clay Waycaster; a brother, Sonny Tidwell and a sister, Gail Mayfield.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Long, John Crubaugh, Leo Hamm, Robert Allen Godfrey, Ross Waycaster, Caleb Tidwell and Nathan Tidwell.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Food Pantry in Nettleton.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 7 and Tuesday from 1 – 2.
