Funeral Services for Mr. Clarence Evans Nix, age 73 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. John Roberts and Bro. Rick Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Delta Community Cemetery.
Mr. Nix was born in Clay County, graduated from Lineville High School and also attended Southern Union State Junior College for two years. Clarence worked for Cheaha State Park in maintenance and retired with over thirty years of service. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, He loved Clay County and Alabama football,
Mr. Nix is survived by his wife, Robin Nix of Lineville; his daughter, Barbara Southers of Lineville; his two sons, Hubert Mitchell of Lineville and Billy Mitchell of Alexander City; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Nix and Lorene Hardy Nix; his wife, Alice Nix, an infant brother and infant sister.
Pallbearers will be Hubert Mitchell, Billy Mitchell, James Edmondson, Cody Mitchell, Dante Mitchell, Hubert J. Mitchell, Billy Evans Mitchell, and Matthew Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 12:30-2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
