F.10.10.18 Perritt.jpgClara Smith Perritt was born November 9, 1928 near Carthage, Tennessee and passed away peacefully October 8, 2018 with her family at her side. She was a lifelong resident of Florence, Alabama. While there, she shared a love for bridge and dinner club with many friends who became more like family. They meant the world to her and joined her for shopping, cooking events and boating on the weekends. Early in their marriage, she and her late husband Otho enjoyed their time on their boat. While living in Florida, Clara was named the 1961 Queen of the Kissimmee River Boat-a-cade. She also caught the smallest sailfish on record while their little 17 foot boat tossed as much as the yachts.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Cindy Perritt Stanley and husband, Michael Anthony Stanley, Sr.; her sister, Eddith Smith Moats; grandchildren, Caroline Stanley and William Stanley; her nephews, Edwin W. Moats, Jr. and Gary W. Moats (Carol) and their families. She lived the last years of her life in Nashville close to her family. What a blessing to have her near us!

At her request, a graveside service will be held at Florence City Cemetery on Friday, October 12th at 1 p.m. Clara will be laid to rest by her beloved husband, William Otho Perritt and her grandson, Michael Anthony Stanley, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Michael Stanley Child Life Fund at CFMT, 3833 Cleghorn Ave. #400, Nashville, TN 37215.
