Claire Bouffard Walters Claire Bouffard Walters, 95, passed away Wednesday. She was born in Rumford, ME, the daughter of a WWI and WWII veteran. She spent her adult years with the love of her life, Joseph Murphy Walters, in Huntsville, AL, where they were faithful members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Married for over 60 years, together they raised and devoted themselves to their family. Claire will forever be remembered as “Mom” and “Grandma.” Her legacy is her faith and family. Her spark and laughter will always remain in the hearts of her ten children, their spouses, 20 grandchildren and spouses, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Claire is survived by her children, Joseph M. Walters, Jr. of Florence, AL, Mike Walters (Judy) of Dickson, TN, Tim Walters (Sharon) of Atlanta, GA, John Walters (Janice) of Madison, AL, David Walters (Addie) of Birmingham, AL, Tom Walters (Patsy) of Montgomery, AL, Sheila Renegar (Neal) of Huntsville, AL, Anne Cahalan (Mike) of Alexander City, AL, Robert Walters of Huntsville, AL, and Carol Walters of Huntsville, AL; all of her loving 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sparky Holmes of Bettendorf, Iowa.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caring nurses of Hospice of North Alabama.

Because of restrictions in place, there will be a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison County Special Olympics, 2095 Scott Road, Hazel Green, AL 35750.
