FLORENCE-Thanks to a $49,900 Creative Place Enhancement Grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum now has upgraded sound equipment to better serve concerts, performances, programs, and community events.

The new equipment was installed during the second week of May and will help create a stronger experience for performers, presenters, audiences, and event organizers. From live music and arts programming to civic gatherings and special events, the improved sound system supports the Coliseum’s role as a place where the community comes together.

“Good sound makes a big difference in how people experience an event,” said Bill Jordan, Florence Parks & Recreation Director. “We are grateful to the Alabama State Council on the Arts for helping us make this improvement at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum. This grant allows us to better support performers, welcome audiences, and continue offering quality events for our community.”

The Creative Place Enhancement Grant supports projects that strengthen creative spaces and expand access to arts and cultural experiences across Alabama. This investment helps ensure the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum remains a welcoming venue for arts, entertainment, and community connection.
