employees and their families

florenceFLORENCE-On Monday, August 29, the City of Florence held a  ribbon-cutting event for the opening of the City of Florence Employee Health & Wellness Center, a new facility that will provide access to primary and preventive healthcare to City’s employees and their dependents, covered by the City’s health plan. This new Health & Wellness Center is the launch of a collaborative partnership by the City of Florence, and Tennessee-based industry pioneer and innovator in onsite healthcare, CareHere.

“Our employees are our greatest asset. We are always looking for ways to

enhance opportunities whether it is from a training and development side to offering proactive wellness initiatives,” stated City of Florence Human Resources Director, Alanna Sullivan. The City of Florence Employee Health & Wellness Center will offer primary care services with no copayments, no deductibles, and no costs for on-site generic medications. This type of cost savings is an obvious benefit to employees and their families. Perhaps just as important, this innovative model has a proven track record of a significant reduction of the employer’s overall healthcare dollars spent, an important savings for the tax payers of Florence, Alabama.

Patients can schedule appointments online or over the phone. Appointments are never double-booked, so the wait time is on average less than two minutes. Alanna Sullivan continued, “We are excited to give our employees convenient access to wellness screenings, as well as, wellness experts, such as a registered dietitian, exercise physiologist, tobacco cessation coach and others. If the health and wellness center helps one employee recognize a chronic disease early and develop a maintenance program to extend their quality of life then it is a success.”
