Cindy Fay Hammon Gray, 63, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. Cindy was born on February 19, 1963, to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray Hammon. A lifelong resident of Decatur, Cindy was a cherished wife, mother, and beloved “Grammy Fay” whose love for her family was the center of her life.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Gray; her daughters, Lindsey Bowling Upton (Ryan) and Katelyn Bowling Duke (Tyler); her stepdaughter, Dawn Ridge; her treasured grandchildren, Katherine Upton, Lydia Upton, Kalee Ridge, Michaela Ridge, and Kevin Ridge; one brother; and a host of loving cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Kenneth Ray Hammon and Mrs. Noma Fay Delmore Hammon, and by her brother, Micky Hammon.
Cindy was known for her joyful spirit and her love of dancing any time the beat dropped. She brought laughter, warmth, and love wherever she went, and she treasured every moment spent with her family.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Huntsville Hospital’s Cardiac Care Unit and to the nurses and staff on the 4th floor of Decatur Morgan Hospital for the tremendous care, compassion, and kindness shown to Cindy and her family during her final days.
A private service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
