Chrystal Reed Sherrill, age 68, of Moulton, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, January 07, 2026, at her residence.
Chrystal was an educator for 27 years in Lawrence County and Marion County. She was a loving, kind, and independent woman. She fought hard, kept her faith, and loved her family. She loved to sew, travel, garden, and was a great golfer. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and her faith has been made whole.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 32 years, Michael Jerome Sherrill; children, Leslie Dutton (Hank), Brad Coan (Julie); grandchildren, Gus Dutton, Sarah Dutton, Katie Mae Coan, Annabelle Coan; mother, Gwendlyon (Reed) Hovater; sisters, Judy Britnell (Ronald), Sandra McKinney (Danny), Alice Kimbrough (Danny Harbin); mother-in-law, Yvonnne Sherrill; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Chrystal was preceded in death by her father, William Clanton Hovater and father-in-law, Jerome Sherrill..
The visitation will be 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Wade Wallace and Bro. Danny McKinney speaking at the service. The burial will be at Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Moulton.
The pallbearers will be Brandon Bradley, Josh Britnell, Heath McKinney, Chandler Kimbrough, Gabe Willis, Lee Roberts, and Gus Dutton.
