Funeral Services for Mrs. Christy H. Willingham, age 58 of Lineville, were held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Owens and Rev. Lee Hollis officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Willingham passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Clay County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she graduated from Lineville High School in the class of 1980. After graduation, Christy attended Ayers State Technical College where she studied Cosmetology. She worked for many years at Higgins Manufacturing as a seamstress as well as a buyer/purchaser at Wellborn Cabinets. She was a good cook and enjoyed doing so; especially cakes and fried chicken. Christy loved to travel, crochet, and collect McCoy pottery. She also liked to collect ceramic figurines and Indian dolls. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Mimi” that will be truly missed by many. Mrs. Willingham was a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Willingham of Lineville; two sons: Jeremiah Willingham (Ollie) of Oxford and Josh Willingham (Stephanie) of Lineville; four grandchildren: Hannah, Jaylie, Hayden Rayne, and Hollyn Willingham; her mother, Geraldine Headrick; her sister, Francis Holcombe (Dale); three brothers: Ray Headrick (Kathy), Bill Headrick (Sheila), and Ralph Headrick (Melanie), all of Lineville; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Silas Burford Headrick; her sister, Alice Hedrick; and her grandparents: William and Dora Nolan and Idas and Clara Headrick.
Pallbearers were: George McCay, Ricky New, Kasey McGraw, Daniel Anderson, Josh McDonald, and Jeff Holcombe.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
