Christopher Richard Wilkinson, 61, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Huntsville, AL. Chris was born March 8, 1960 to Dick and Sue (Ross) Wilkinson in Ottumwa, IA. He attended Cedar Falls High School and went on to graduate from the University of Dubuque in 1982. Chris was united in marriage to Jan Shreffler at St. John Vianney Church in Bettendorf, IA on September 28, 1984. Chris founded Wilkinson Insurance Services, Inc. in 1993. With his passion for the premium insurance audit industry, he grew the business from a single employee to roughly 80 employees located throughout the southeast.
Chris enjoyed golfing, watching sports and vacationing at the beach. Most of all, Chris enjoyed spending time with his two beloved granddaughters, Kate and Dylan.
Chris will be dearly missed by his wife of 36 years, Jan Wilkinson; children, Kelli (David) Walker and Chad Wilkinson; grandchildren, Kate Wilkinson and Dylan Walker; mother, Sue Wilkinson; two brothers, Michael (Anne) Wilkinson and Jeffrey (Ginger) Wilkinson; sister, Mary Wilkinson and several nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Dick Wilkinson.
A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
