Christopher Paul Scott "Scotty West" Profile Photo Christopher Paul Scott, also known as Scotty, was born July 23, 1972, in Dyersburg, TN. Later the family moved to Henderson, TN, where Scotty grew up. Later as an adult, he moved to Colorado where he enjoyed hiking and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. He was a lover of the outdoors. While in Colorado, he got into the food industry and worked as a chef for many years. Cooking was one of his passions. He also loved art and was a very good artist himself doing paintings and charcoal drawings. He also loved gardening and collected heirloom seeds so he could grow the vegetables he loved to use in cooking.

In 2003 Scotty moved back to Henderson and lived with his mother and stepfather. He worked at Rafferty’s Restaurant and made many lifelong friends there. In 2023, he stopped working to help his mother take care of his stepfather who had Alzheimer’s dementia.

Scotty was loyal and loving to his family and friends and many of his friends became like family to him. Scotty was also a great animal lover and befriended not only neighborhood cats and dogs, but a possum who came around the house. He even named the possum Tater. Scotty was also a pet parent of two cats named Pepper and Piper.

Scotty is survived by his mother Ellen West, sister Lisa Scott, stepsister, Jennifer Burress, stepbrother Bradley West, nephews Austin Hardy, Landon Hardy, Mason Burress, Samuel Burress, and fur babies Pepper Scott and Piper Scott.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather Kenneth West.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday March 7, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel at 2:00 PM.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time.
