Christopher Hardeman McCorkle went home to be with God on Monday, August 27th. He was just on loan, and God gave us the joy of knowing him, loving him, and being loved by him for just a little while…but not nearly long enough.
Even in sorrow we rejoice because we know where he is… where the streets have no name he is riding his bicycle, fly fishing in a crystal clear stream, enjoying concert after concert. and ending his days drinking an old Lagavulin while smoking a Cuban cigar…all the while swapping stories with God, debating some theological point, and telling him what a great day it was.
Missing him are his wife of 30 years, Kristy Green McCorkle and his sister, Debbie McCorkle Waugh, and a wealth of other family and friends that he was blessed to have.
We will miss his strength, his love, his loyalty, his faithfulness…and holding his big warm hand.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, August 31st at Community Church of Hendersonville in Hendersonville, Tennessee. A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. with Mike Farra officiating.
