Funeral service for Christopher “Chris” Joseph Garrett, 51, will be Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick, Bro. Rusty Wilkerson, and Bro. Gerald Case officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church.
Mr. Garrett died on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born December 9, 1973, in Jefferson County, to David Bevin Garrett and Pattie Lisa Thompson Garrett Hopkins.
Chris was a 1992 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School. He worked for many years alongside his grandfather, Hammond Thompson, with Thompson Backhoe Service, where he served as a backhoe operator. He continued the work for many years after his grandfather’s passing.
Chris was a kind, gentle, and loving person. He was good to help anyone and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Preceding him in death were his father, David Garrett, and grandparents; Hammond and Peggy Thompson, Marcus and Melba Garrett and Henry and Ruby Hopkins.

Mother & Step-Father – Pattie Thompson Hopkins (Billy “Bud”),
Brother – Michael Garrett,
Sisters- Christie Chamberlain (Chad) and
Heatherly Lawrence (Carl)
Grandchildren – Lucas Clay, Lakely Claire Whisenant, and Watson Riggs Lawrence,
One Nephew – Logan Stines (Haley) and
One Niece – Emily Stines (Fiancee’ Isaac Simpson).
Pallbearers will be Jerry (J.R.) Brown, Logan Stines, Cole Brown, Robbie Elliott, Corey Morrow, and Jamie Reynolds.
