Christopher Brooke Perry, 49, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday, January 17, 2017, at his home in Huntsville, Alabama.
He was born on June 19, 1968, in Gadsden, Alabama. As a child he moved with his family to Sheffield, Alabama, where he graduated from Sheffield High School as a member of the class of 1986. During his high school years, he also attended the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham as a student of music.
He graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and English. He continued on to the University of Memphis where he earned an M.A. in Theatre History.
During his life he was a musician, a scholar, an actor, a director, a father, a son, a brother, a teacher, a student,a performer, and a poet. Everything he did, he did with great passion. He loved nothing so much as a good argument, unless it was a good song, a good horror movie (or a bad one), a beautiful instrument, or a well-written book.
Brooke was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Martha Hudson Perry, and his sister, Allyson Joanna Perry. He is survived by four children, Nick Miller (Chasity) of Anderson, Ian and Olivia Perry of Florence, and Aria Perry of Littleville; a wife, Anna Perez Perry of Littleville; a grandson, Todd Miller of Dexter, MI; a brother, Clark Perry (Jill Blotevogel) of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Deb Friedman of Pensacola Beach, FL; and two nieces, Dee Lambert of Pensacola Beach, FL and Keaton Perry of Los Angeles, CA.
Please join the family for a casual gathering of friends and family to commemorate Brooke’s life and share memories on Sunday, January 28 at the Historic Zodiac Playhouse in Florence. Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm. Carl Gebhardt will conduct a short memorial service at 3:30, with continued visitation with friends and family following.
