Rogersville-1st Saturday in Rogersville for December lands on December 1 and promises to be festive. There will be a candle light tour of downtown Rogersville, led by Dr. Bill Maloney, owner of Longing for Home Bed & Breakfast and will be infused with lots of historic trivia. There will be cider in participating shops and s’mores on Lee Street, manned by the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department. The shops will be open late and will be all a’glow with lights and beautiful Christmas decorations and merchandise. Don’t miss the festivities.
On December 7, the Chamber will hold its annual Christmas breakfast meeting at Joe Wheeler at 7:30 am. The cost of breakfast is $10 and can be paid at the door. RSVP to the chamber office at 256-247-9449.
Joe Wheeler will host their annual Parade of Lights on December 8. Judging is at 4:30 pm, line-up is at 5:45 pm and the parade is at 6 pm.To participate or ask questions, call 256-247-6971 or email JoeWheeler.Marina@dcnr.alabama.gov .
The Rogersville Christmas Parade is December 15 at 5 pm thru downtown Rogersville. Line-up will be at the high school behind the gym at 4:15 pm. The chamber is accepting submissions for floats, carolers, antique vehicles and more. Call the chamber office to enter. There is no cost to be in the parade. Following the parade there will be a Yule Log Ceremony at the historic Presbyterian Church on Lee Street, just steps from downtown. This ceremony is at 6 pm.
