SHEFFIELD-Celebrate the holidays at the Ritz Theatre this December with Christmas at The Ritz! This series will kick off on Dec. 3 and 4 at 6 p.m with two magical family events based on the Christmas classic The Polar Express. Tickets are $18 each and are available now at tennesseevalleyarts.org or by calling 256-383-0533.
Each Polar Express event will start at 6 p.m. with festive family fun at the Ritz Theatre complex, which will be decked out for the season! Participants will get to ride a trolley with Santa, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, and make an ornament to hang on The Ritz’s Christmas tree. Then at 7 p.m., everyone will watch The Polar Express on The Ritz’s big screen.
This event is all about creating Christmas magic for families, according to Burt Helton, board chair at the Tennessee Valley Art Association, which runs the Ritz Theatre.
“Christmas is all about kids and how their eyes light up at the excitement of the holidays,” said Helton. “We want to provide an immersive experience for children to make Christmas even more magical.”
After The Polar Express events, Christmas at the Ritz will continue Dec. 13-17 with a week of holiday classics at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets for these films are $10 each, or $25 for a week-long pass that will grant entry to all five films. Tickets are available online, by calling 256-383-0533, or at the door.
