Christine Smith Neuman-Messina Funeral services for Christine Smith Neuman Messina, 76, of Hanceville will be 12:00 Monday December 9th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow the service at Damascus Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Messina was born March 31, 1948 in Bessemer, Alabama.  She passed away December 5, 2024 in Hanceville, Alabama.  Christine was a kind soul who loved helping others.  She worked at Uniway before dedicating herself to caring for others – both in nursing homes and as a private caregiver for elderly individuals and children.  Despite dealing with back and neck issues for decades, Christine remained resilient and always pushed through to raise her family and support those around her.

Mrs. Messina is survived by her daughters, Debbie Smith (Donnie), Teresa Harris (John Wright), and Jennifer Neuman (Rodney Dye); her grandchildren, Nicole Moore, Chance Dye (Paige), Kayla Hollis, Summer Campfield (Dylan), Haley Green (Daniel), Jeremy Reddick, Autumn Hollis, and Christine Reddick; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and siblings, Elizabeth Thomas, Paul Smith, Martha Jean Smith, and Sarah Smith (Charles).

Mrs. Messina was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Messina; her first husband, Gerald Neuman (with whom she maintained a friendship despite their divorce); her father, Edward James Smith; her mother, Margaret L. Smith; siblings, Buddy Smith, Frances Smith, Dorthy Wiley, Betty Allen, and Charles Smith; and her grandson, Cameron Neuman.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Smith, Chance Dye, Rodney Dye, Daniel Green, John Wright, and Dylan Campfield.
