Mrs. Bain was born May 12, 1937 to the late Kelcy and Ruby Smith in Alcorn County, MS. She grew up and lived there until 2017, then moved to Morganfield, KY to be near her daughter and family because of her health.
She grew up in church, loved going to church, and loved her Lord.
She was a hard worker who served as a factory worker, caretaker for the sick, clerk at New Life Christian Supply, and co-owner of Outlet Farm Equipment Company. She also enjoyed cleaning her house and working in her yard. She especially loved cooking for her family and friends who she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her wonderful Christian husband of 53 years, Milton Bain; parents Kelcy and Ruby Smith; brothers Archie Smith and wife Annie Ruth, R.C. Smith and wife Myrtle, Grady Smith and wife Louise, and Hardie Alvis Smith; sister Irene Smith Crumby and husband George; in-laws Paul and Nannie Mae Bain; brothers and sisters-in-law Dorothy Johnson and husband Leo, Hilton Bain and wife Faye, Franklin Bain, Willie Stricklin, and Mary Trammel and husband J.W.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Bain Jackson, and husband Dwight of Morganfield; grandsons Matt Jackson and wife Sarah of St. Louis, MO and Evan Jackson and wife Christin of Morganfield; great-grandchildren Juliana Jackson, Josiah Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, and Miles Jackson; sisters-in-law Pauline Stricklin, Doris Pittman and husband Gerald, Helen Gillentine and husband Ricky; loving and compassionate caregivers Stephanie Vaughn, Carol Vaughn, and Riley King.
Funeral services will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth, MS on Monday, October 5 at 2 PM. Visitation will be at noon until service time. Dr. Leonard Pratt and Rev. Dwight Jackson will officiate, and Matt Jackson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Magnolia Gardens in Corinth
