Christine Jeffreys Mask, age 88, of Muscle Shoals, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014. Her funeral service will be today, 10 a.m., at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Stan Smith and Pastor Bryan McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Her body will be place in the church sanctuary at 9 a.m. to lie in state.
Mrs. Mask was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church where she served her Lord by teaching Sunday school, visiting and was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She retired from the Colbert County Board of Education as a bus driver. She enjoyed canning, baking, sewing, reading, and loved to host her annual Fourth of July chicken stew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Mask, son, Richard Mask, daughter-in-law, Ronda Mask, brothers, Roy and Vernon Jeffreys, sister, Ocile Nix, and her parents, Benton and Gladys Jeffreys.
She is survived by her sons, C.O. “Buddy” Mask and wife, Fay, Jerry Mask and wife, Amerlious, Royce Mask and wife, Etta, and Barry Mask; daughter, Thelma Mask; sister, Sue Mitchell; grandchildren, Lesa Mask, Alan Mask and wife, Jennifer, Anthony Mask, Angie McCaig and husband, Brian, Tracey Brown and husband, Joe, Trent Mask and wife, Kim, Janel Barkley and husband, Brian, Jill Simpson and husband, Jon, Kimberly Swindle and husband, Chad, and Vanessa King and husband, Heath; and great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Marie, Jack, Catie, Bay, Channing, Caleb, Colton, and Hunter.
Pallbearers are Trent Mask, Caleb Mask, Colton Mask, Hunter McCaig, Brian Barkley, Chad Swindle, Heath King, and Brian McCaig.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shady Grove Cemetery Fund.
