Mrs. Christine Hester, 92, of New Albany, Mississippi, departed this earthly life on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family.
Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Christine’s precious life will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funerals & Cremations with Bro. Ron Cottom officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. and continue until the time of the service. Following the service, Mrs. Christine will be laid to rest in Martin Cemetery with no graveside service.
Born on February 28, 1934, in New Albany, Mississippi, Mrs. Christine was the daughter of the late R. C. and Mary Mayo. She attended Martintown School, where she received her education before marrying the love of her life, the late Mr. James Hester. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and family while raising their children. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Mrs. Christine was employed with Futorian Furniture for twenty-five years before her retirement.
A faithful member of Martin Baptist Church, Mrs. Christine will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, her passion for gardening, and the love she freely shared with everyone she met. Above all, she cherished her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Those left to cherish the precious memories of Mrs. Christine include her son, Ricky Hester and his wife, Tressa, of New Albany, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Justin Hester of New Albany, Joey Hester of New Albany, Patience Gregory and her husband, Shane, of New Albany, Heather Willard and her husband, Brett, of New Albany, and Angela Rainer and her husband, Allen, of New Albany; her beloved great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and dear friends who will forever treasure the time they shared with her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. James Hester; her son, Larry Hester; and her nine brothers and sisters.
While the presence of Mrs. Christine will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, unwavering faith, quiet strength, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
