Christine Drinkard Fourroux – Obituary

Christine Drinkard Fourroux, 90, of Huntsville passed away Friday. She grew up in Birmingham where she graduated from Woodlawn High School. After earning an RN degree, Christine worked as a nurse in Birmingham and Huntsville. Following the death of her husband, she became the co-owner of Fourroux Brace and Shoe Store. She was a member of Valley Fellowship Church and loved fishing and golf.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Nestor Robert Fourroux, Jr.; daughter Christine Anne Milling; parents, Elbert and Ida Bragg Drinkard; and brothers Elbert Joseph Drinkard, John Elmer Drinkard and Richard Donald Drinkard.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Faye Johnson (John) and Karen Lee Johnson of Huntsville, Sharon Lynn Dahmen (David) of Fairhope, Marilyn Joyce Collins (Robert) of Winchester, Virginia, and Suzanne Doudney (Jim) of Dallas, TX; son-in-law, Jim Milling of Gurley; sister, Dorothy Faye Garringer of Birmingham, sister-in-law, June Drinkard of Birmingham; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Fellowship Church, your church or a favorite charity.
