Christine BurbageChristine Burbage, age 95 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Southern Manor. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on January 16, 1925 to the late J. Frank and Alice Hall. Christine loved travel and adventure throughout her life, and as a young woman even learned to fly a plane. She enjoyed the additions of nieces and nephews and after marriage to Joe, was blessed with two sons. Most of her married life was spent in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where her husband trucked for McLean and she was a former owner/partner in McLendon Associates as well as licensed to practice Federal Income Tax. She and Joe retired to live in Winchester for the rest of their lives. Joe and Christine traveled by camper accompanied by Claxton and Daisy for six weeks to Alaska and enjoyed traveling out West and to North Carolina seashores. Her niece, Carolyn, later accompanied her on her trips to Hawaii and later a Caribbean cruise. She loved her family, friends, and her church. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Burbage; sons, Joseph B. Burbage Jr, and Richard Burbage; and siblings, John Buel Hall, H. Claxton Hall, Edward F. Hall, and Serena Theo Hall. She is survived by nieces, Carolyn Hall Garner, Shirley Horner, Sharon Grant, and Diane Striley; and nephews, Howard C. Hall Jr, David Wayne Hall, Gary A. Hall, Gary E. Hall, Kevin F. Hall, John E. Hall, and Kenneth Hall.
