Christie Thomason Swanner, 66 of Athens, passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2021. She was born June 2nd, 1955 in Tullahoma, TN to Herman and Donna Jo Thomason. Christie moved to Huntsville at a young age and lived the rest of her life in North Alabama. She was employed at Intergraph for over 40 years, retiring in 2018 as a Vice President in PPM Division.
Christie was a devoted wife to Joey Swanner, cherished mother to Joseph (Eryn) Mitchell and Joel (Anna Young) Swanner, beloved Nana to grandchildren (Jayson and Joanna), and loving sister to Pat (Sheryl) Thomason. Christie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Friday, June 25th, from 12:00-2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Dr. Gary Enfinger will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
