Chris Alan  Shillingburg

Chris Alan Shillingburg, 72, passed away on March 7, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. Chris was born on October 12, 1951, to the late Russell Bryan Shillingburg and Ethel Pearl Geenan Shillingburg. He was a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians. He had attended St. Leo University in Florida where he received his B.A. degree in Business Management.

Chris lived life on his terms and praised God on Sundays with his soulmate Martha by his side. He served his country faithfully for over two decades as an officer in the US Army Green Berets and other special forces overseas, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel to enjoy life in many fine places of this country. Among some of his many notable military decorations were the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service, and the Air Medal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Carbin.

Chris is survived by his wife, Martha Cooper Shillingburg of Starkville, MS; daughter April Dingess; step-daughters Melissa Osburn (Gary), Cynthia McCoy, Carolyn Spence, and Angie McCoy; brothers Gary Shillingburg (Laura), Ric Shillingburg (Pat), and Randy Shillingburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Antioch Baptist Church in Sturgis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 4285 Pleasant Hill Road, Sturgis, MS 39769.
