THE SHOALS-Like many other organizations, Chloe’s Fund has been hampered in its ability to fundraise due to the current pandemic situation. Our primary fundraising efforts have been our popular Bake Sales; however, we came up with a way to offer you those very same baked goods in a safe and sanitary way. We will offer a Menu of popular baked goods that you can preorder and prepay for online. Menus can be found on the Friends of Florence Lauderdale Animal Services and the Florence Lauderdale Animal Services Facebook. The Menu will explain how to order and prepay for your safely wrapped goodies. The last day to preorder from the Menu is Wednesday, September 2nd at 5pm. On Saturday, September 5 from 10am-2pm a pickup area for you to receive your order will be designated in the Florence Lauderdale Animal Services building at 3240 Roberson Road in Florence. (There will be extra items you can buy on site!) All proceeds from these sales benefit Chloe’s Fund in helping with medical and veterinary expenses for local animals and many at Florence Lauderdale Animal Services.
We dedicate our online Bake Sale to the memory of one of the co-founders of Chloe’s Fund, Glen Nelson; we lost Glen to COVID 19 in late July. Glen and his wife Debby started Chloe’s Fund in March of 2017 after they lost their beloved dog of 16 years, Chloe. After Chloe’s passing, they set out on a mission to help as many sick and injured Florence Lauderdale Animal Services animals as they could. It’s impossible to detail the many ways Glen and Debby as a team and individually have impacted the Shelter and the animals in our community. Without them, many animals’ lives would have been lost. Glen helped in any way he could and we will miss him greatly.
