Chloe’s Fund Needs Your Help! Emergency Medical Expenses for Florence Lauderdale Animal Services

FLORENCE-Chloe’s Fund humbly ask for your help, please! Florence Lauderdale had 5 emergency cases go to the Florence Emergency Animal Clinic this past weekend. In addition, ANOTHER 80 animals were confiscated today from St. Florian and all animals must be examined by a Veterinarian. (Reminder, the Shelter took in 191 confiscated animals 1 month ago – they also had to be examined with many patients in need of emergency care). Undoubtedly, many of the animals confiscated today will require medical attention. As if that weren’t enough, we are in “kitten season”, and the Shelter is overflowing with kittens and their Mamas; some in need of emergency medical attention! Chloe’s Fund is critical in providing funds for medical care for the Shelter Animals. As you can well imagine, the medical bills keep adding up faster than our fund-raising efforts can accommodate; we are running very low on funds and it is literally raining cats, kittens and dogs, dogs, and more dogs! We desperately need help from our communities. Donations, no matter what amount would be gratefully appreciated. There are various ways to donate: A check made out to Chloe’s Fund can be dropped off at the Animal Services Building, 3240 Roberson Road, Florence. Venmo is Chloe’s Fund – Nelson or PayPal at Chloesfund2@gmail.com . Donation information is also available on the following Facebook pages; Chloe’s Fund, Friends of Florence Lauderdale Animal Services (which has a calendar for sale) or Florence Lauderdale Animal Services.

Florence Lauderdale Animal Services is also running VERY low on supplies – paper towels, dry dog food and canned dog food, cat food, kitten food (both wet and dry, no dye in any of the food for dogs or cats, please), small (fleece) blankets, can be found at the Dollar Tree, bedding and towels (can be used, but must be clean) and toys, toys, toys!! Animal Services’ Supplies can also be found on the Amazon Gift List under Florence Lauderdale Animals Services.

Due to the legal issues involved with the confiscated animals now at the Shelter, they cannot be adopted. However, there are so many wonderful animals that can be adopted or fostered. Adoption rates have been discounted to $35 for all animals.

Chloe’s Fund is a 501(c) (3) organization providing financial aid to assist emergency medical expenses for the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter animals and to support Shelter Diversion. It was created in March of 2017 after shelter volunteers, Glen and Debby Nelson lost Chloe, their beloved dog of 16 years. After Chloe’s passing, the Nelsons and their friends set out on a mission to help as many sick and injured Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services animals as possible. Since its inception, Chloe’s Fund vetted and saved the lives of several hundred animals suffering from various illnesses and in need of medical attention.
