Cherie Yvonne StoneCherie Yvonne (Tiger) Stone, 63, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. She was born in Okinawa, Japan on April 8, 1962, and lived a life dedicated to service, faith, and love for her family and community. Cherie had a long career of law enforcement with her beginnings at the City of Pompano Beach, to Broward Sheriff’s Office and ending with the City of Sarasota Police Department. She proudly served as a Crime Prevention Officer with the City of Sarasota from September 2003 to February 2017, where she made a lasting impact through her commitment to safety, compassion, and care for the people and communities she served. Her kindness and professionalism touched countless lives and left an enduring legacy within the community she loved. A faithful member of Life Covenant Sanctuary, Cherie found strength and purpose in her relationship with God. Her devotion and warm spirit were evident in every aspect of her life, from her church family to her work and personal relationships.

Cherie will be remembered as a loving daughter, devoted sister, and cherished friend. Her gentle heart, bright smile, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Yasuko Stone, her brother John Stone, sister-in-law Kelly and nieces/nephew, Adelaide, Sydney and John Michael, her sister Patricia (Stone) Van Lenten, brother-in-law David, and nephews, Owen and Jake.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Grassy Church of Christ. Family and friends are welcome at 1:30 until the service begins at 2:00 p.m., Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cherie’s memory to Life Covenant Sanctuary, Bradenton, Florida or Grassy Church of Christ, Arab, Alabama.
