SHEFFIELD-After a two-year hiatus, the Ritz Theatre’s children’s program, Time Out for Theatre, returns with a public performance of Charlotte’s Web on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 each and are available at tennesseevalleyarts.org.
With a cast of local children and adults, this performance of Charlotte’s Web will delight audiences with E.B. White’s classic tale of an extraordinary spider who saves the life of a humble pig. The story was adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette into a one-hour play that is perfect for young audiences. The cast will be performing for school field trip audiences during the week, culminating with the Saturday public performance.
The play is directed by Laura Connolly and Andrew Maples, long-time directors for The Ritz’s children’s theatre program.
“I love directing for Time Out for Theatre because I enjoy seeing the young actors grow and improve in their craft,” says Connolly. “The kids make lifelong friends, and they enjoy being on stage. It helps them flourish and grow as individuals.”
While a limited number of tickets may be available at the door for the March 5 performance, seats are selling fast, so purchasing tickets in advance is encouraged.
