Charlotte Evans Wise, 86, of Birmingham, Alabama, went to heaven on Monday, August 17, 2020. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Robert Bruce Wise, her parents Hammett and Tressie Evans, and her brother Robert Evans. She is survived by first cousins Fred (June) Evans; Donna (Steve) Woods; Shelby (Jerry) Weaver; Sarah (Jack) Chandler; Mitchell Blackwood; their families; a number of other cousins; brother-in-law James Wise; sister-in-law Sybil (Joe) Lynn; and nieces and nephews Joe (Sheila) Lynn; Kim (David) Chandler; Curt Lynn; Barry (Kyle) Smith; and Will (Sarah) Wise and their families. Mrs. Wise died on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Brookdale University Park. She was born Thursday, December 14, 1933, in Morgan County to Hammett H. Evans and Tressie L. Beasley Evans. Charlotte was born in Falkville, Alabama, on December 14,1933. A die-hard Auburn fan, Charlotte graduated from Auburn in 1956. After marrying Bob Wise, they moved to Birmingham, where Charlotte started her career as an executive administrative assistant and payroll administrator at Southern Research Institute. She was a llfelong member of Falkville United Methodist Church and a member of Highlands United Methodist Church in Birmingham. Charlotte loved traveling with Bob; cheering for her Auburn Tigers; spending time on her family farm in Falkville; and sewing, cooking, baking, and photography. Charlotte was actively involved in organizations like Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestown Society, the National Society Colonial Dames, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale University Park and Affinity Hospice for their exceptional care. A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Charlotte Evans Wise, 86, will be Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Falkville City Cemetery with Bro. Slade Hogan officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No public visitation is scheduled.
