Charlie R. Roby, a beloved figure in the community and a dedicated professional, passed away peacefully at his residence in Jackson, TN, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 11, 1957, in Tiptonville, TN, the son of the late Manson and Evelyn Stewart Roby. Charlie was a man of great character and extraordinary presence in the lives of those who knew him. He was a graduate of Chester County High School, where he was an All-American Football Player. His passion and commitment to sports extended beyond athletics; he was a lifetime member of the Chester County Quarterback Club and an active member of the FFA, reflecting his dedication to both teamwork and self-improvement.
Charlie’s professional journey as a Construction Estimator with Campbell Backhoe and Dozer was marked by his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the construction industry. His colleagues respected him not just for his professional abilities but for his warm personality that made every interaction enjoyable.
A genuinely outgoing individual with a great wit, Charlie had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His laughter and joyful spirit will be sincerely missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Roby; son, Randall Roby; daughter, MaryJane Parker; grandson, Hayden Parker; and mother-in-law, Jane Campbell.
Along with his parents He was preceded in death by his son, Rance Roby in 2009.
SERVICES: A visitation and funeral service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continue until the 7:00 p.m. service time.
There will be a private family committal service on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Charlie’s legacy will endure through the love he shared and the lives he touched. As we remember him, let us celebrate his contributions, the love he brought to his family, and the joy he spread in his community.
