Charlie Patton Thorn, 76, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in New Site, MS. He was born in Belmont, MS. He worked as a carpenter for over forty-five years and was retired from Oswalt Construction. He attended Liberty Church of Christ, Dennis, MS.
Services will be Sunday, May 9, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in East Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery, New Site, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by a daughter – Cristina Brooks (Gary); four grandchildren – Jeffery Brooks, Harley Brooks, Whitney Brooks and Ashleigh Brooks; one great-granddaughter– Paisleigh Grace; two brothers – Paul Thorn (Margaret) and Melvin Thorn (Judy); one sister – LaRue Crouch a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-five years, Marie Hester Thorn, a daughter, Georgia Ann Thorn; his father, Elmer Lee Thorn and his mother, Rival Woods Thorn.
Pallbearers will be Scott Bridges, Nathan Bridges, Bradley Frederick, Andy Paul Wooten, Scotty Wooten and Cory Wooten.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 8, 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 9, 1-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
