Charlie Jackson Higginbotham, age 72 of Cordova, passed from this life into the presence of his Lord while surrounded by his wife and children on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Jack worked as a coal miner and foreman at multiple companies including Concord, Jim Walter Resource, Oak Grove and Drummond Company. While this was how he made his living, his true passion was serving his Savior. He pastored Dovertown Freewill Baptist Church and Beechgrove Freewill Baptist Church and served many others as fill in or interim pastor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Alabama football but most special to him was time spent with family.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Randy Key, Jeff Allred and Larry Wimberly will officiate.
Mr. Higginbotham was preceded in death by his Father-Charles James Higginbotham; Mother-Millardean Higginbotham; Brothers-Gregory Higginbotham and Steve Higginbotham; Granddaughter-Payton Harper O’Rear.
He is survived by his Wife-Rebecca Higginbotham of Cordova; Daughters-Brandi Higginbotham, Lana Watson (Tony) of Fort Payne and Amy Taft (Robert) of Cordova; Sons-Jared Higginbotham (Lynne) of Dardanelle, AR, Brad Higginbotham (Carrie) of Centerton, AR and Russ O’Rear (Amber); Sisters-Carolyn Dill of Jasper, Deborah Stewart (Doug) of Cordova and Nina Wood of Jasper; Brothers-Jimmy Higginbotham (Jennifer) of Cordova and Terry Higginbotham (Sandra) of Jasper; 14 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jess Watson, Will Taft, Zachary Marks, Jackson O’Rear, Ryan Stewart, Jake Biggleston, Jordan Tatum, Bradee Wiley and Bryant Atkins.
