Funeral service for Charles William Sanford, 87, will be Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ken Blackwood officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Sanford passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Riverside Assisted Living . He was born March 20, 1938, in Morgan County, to George Sanford and Elizabeth Sanford .
Charles Sanford was well known in the community of Hartselle, AL, for his humble outstanding leadership and his willingness to help others. Charles was a member and deacon of West Hartselle Baptist Church. He was a member of the Alabama Baptist, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Ministry and the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, where he participated in numerous disaster relief efforts in the USA and abroad. He also participated in numerous misson projests internationally assisting Missionaries’ building churches.
Charles was retired from Monsanto in Decatur, AL, as a Maintenance Mechanic, and as a hobby he repaired chain-saws, small engines and grew gardens.
Preceding him in death were his wife- Deloice Sanford, his parents, George Washington Sanford and Elizabeth Brown Sanford, and a brother – Roy Sanford and his wife- Louise.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Sandy Standridge (Terry), and
Charlice LaFavor (Willie)
Brother – Louie Sanford (Maxine)
Grandsons – George Ulrich, Russell Standridge (Kalee), and Andy LaFavor (Hannah)
Great Grandchildren – Conner Ulrich and Sadie Standridge,
Nieces and Nephew- Lisa Duque, Tammy Sanford, Sharon Holyoak, LaShun Daniels, and Shane Gaston.
Pallbearers will be George Ulrich, Conner Ulrich, Russell Standridge, Andy LaFavor, Andy Staggs, and Jeff Woodruff.
