Charles William Flancher Jr. “Chuck”, age 88 of Gurley, Alabama passed away December 22, 2019 in his home surrounded by family. Chuck was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 21, 1931, to Charles and Georgia Mae Flancher. He joined the Army, January 1949 and served in the Korean War from 1950-1951 receiving the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Eventually Chuck and his family settled in Tifton, Georgia where he became a truck driver, driving for Coachman Industries retiring after 20 years. He loved playing golf, wood working and spending time with his dogs. He was a Mason for the Shriners of the Mezonite Temple in Fort Wayne, Indiana and the American Legion, Post #0237 in Huntsville, Alabama. Chuck loved his wife Sharon, of 42 years and his family.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Georgia Mae Flancher; sisters, Montine Kirkland and Vera Schofill. He is survived by his wife Sharon Flancher; his children, Tina (Anthony) Seidita, Charles (Gail) Flancher III, and Brenda Davis. His stepchildren, Nancy (Kenneth) Starr, Tanker (Dannie) Holmes, Denise Holmes and Wendy (Cater) Pierce. His grandchildren, Samantha Cutten, Zack Holmes, A.J. Holmes, Alex Holmes, Shelley Holmes, Sage Davis, Josh Davis, Bradley Flancher, Sebastian Seidita, Destiny Seidita, Vito Seidita, Breana Seidita, Kristi Myers, Robbie Starr, Colby Pierce, Abegail Pierce and Amelia Pierce. His great grandchildren, Hayden Myers, Jake Myers, Kagen Starr, Davis Holmes and Briggs Myers. His brother, Jack (Betty) Flancher. His sisters, Vallie Mente, Juanita Kirkland, Gwen Kirkland and Eldora O’Neal.

Visitation is Saturday, December 28, 2019 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by the Memorial service at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Legacy for Korean War Veterans Foundation.
