Charles William “Billy” Beck, 78, of Oakman, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at home.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Day Cemetery at 11 a.m. Dave Hood will officiate.
Billy was a graduate of Oakman High School in 1963. He went to play Auburn football in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart, Sara Savage, in 1964. He retired from Alabama Power Company and was a “jack of all trades” for his family. He was a faithful member of Oakman Central Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Beck Sartain; parents, William L. “Bill” Beck and Thelma Martin Beck; granddaughter, Haley Sartain Ellenburg; grandparents, Brite and Mamie Beck, and Rube and Ella Martin; in laws, Robert “Bob” Savage and Euline Guin Savage.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Savage Beck; daughter, Gina Pair (Ken); son-in-law, Mark Sartain; grandchildren, Ben Tubbs (Brandy), Brad Tubbs, Katie Sartain Jones and Marcy S Myers (Nick); siblings, Glenda Raines and Suzanne Beck; and great-grandchildren, Griffin Jones, Laethin Tubbs, Letti Tubbs, Rhett Ellenburg, Lynlee Myers, Haven Myers and Ryker Myers.
