Charles Wesley Guthrie, age 94, of Nauvoo and lately Jasper, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2025. He was a deacon for 51 years and a Men’s Sunday School teacher for 40 years at Edgil Grove Baptist Church.
As long as he was physically able, he worked on many building projects with fellow church members. He worked for Alabama Power and retired from the complex in Shelby County.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with funeral from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Collins Burke Funeral Home.
Charles was preceded in death by his Wife-Sarah Catherine (Cat) Guthrie, by his Father and Mother-Carmie C. and Leona Pearl Guthrie, by his Son-Timothy Charles Guthrie, by his In-Laws-Edward and Lucy Brown, and by his Brother-Loal Guthrie.
Family remaining are his Daughter and Son-in-law-Teressa and Garry L. Rowland, his Grandchildren-Jaxson Kluesner (Kaitlyn), Alexandra Kluesner, and Caelan Estes.
